Dona Kiriella is a Sri Lankan–born American printmaker and painter whose artistic journey spans continents and cultures. Her work seamlessly weaves her rich Asian heritage with the diverse influences she encountered throughout her life and career. Born and raised in Sri Lanka, Kiriella showed an early aptitude for the visual arts and pursued her passion with dedication at the University of Visual & Performing Arts in Colombo. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture and Painting in 1994. She later completed a Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking at Lehman College, City University of New York, and a Master of Philosophy in Art History from the University of Visual & Performing Arts, Sri Lanka.
